I will admit that the first season of Girls5eva in 2021 didn’t quite capture me. There was something eerie in how the crowd scenes were obviously filmed with new school pandemic protocols—music festival scenes would have 5-10 extras in them, and the whole world felt oddly airless and claustrophobic. Plus, I didn’t want to subscribe to Peacock.
