It’s a short one today, due to a midsummer-themed pagan wedding I’m attending with Sharlene this afternoon. Congratulations to my sweet friend Leah and her husband.

🤖 Murderbot on Apple TV+ is great

Part Galaxy Quest, part Ray Bradbury, this show was recommended to me by a talented young screenwriting student (thank you, Chase!). Based on a book series I haven’t read, Murderbot stars Alexander Skarsgaard as a “SecUnit” security robot who gradually gains sentience and humanity by… watching alien soap operas. Up my alley, completely.

I am seven episodes in and loving it. This is one of the only shows both my girlfriend and I like equally. Funny, tense, romantic (?!), sexy (!?), queer inclusive scifi comedy is exactly what I’m craving in the age of the humorless Andor and Altered Carbon.
